Pothole Season

Pothole Season

Potholes occur when water penetrates the top layer of asphalt through cracks. When the moisture freezes and expands, the pavement buckles. As vehicles drive over the cracks, the weight breaks the asphalt, and it is forced up and out.

       Please report potholes to the

Department of Public Works at

317-745-4180 ext. 4003.

DPW will be out full force over the next couple of weeks filling and repairing potholes around town (weather permitting). The plan is to use our snow-route maps to prioritize repairs, focusing on the main arterial streets and then moving to the lower-volume residential streets.

Contact DPW with any questions or concerns at 317-4180 ext. 4003 or email Andy Pitcher, DPW Superintendent at apitcher@danvilleindiana.org
