Position: Planning Technician
Requirements:
 Degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of professional planning experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
 Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
 Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service

🔹 Key Responsibilities:
 Assist the Town Planner in reviewing plans, preparing staff reports, and Findings of Fact
 Provide support for the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals
 Conduct field inspections and verify compliance with approved plans
Offer guidance to the public on zoning, land use applications, and subdivision control ordinances
Evaluate and implement policy updates related to planning goals and objectives
Collect and analyze statistical data, prepare reports, and create maps
Ensure zoning compliance through research, plan reviews, and inspections
Attend training sessions and stay up to date with industry best practices
Work collaboratively to improve processes and customer service

This role requires effective communication, attention to detail, and team collaboration to support Danville’s planning initiatives.
