Severe Weather Update – April 3, 2025
On the evening of April 2, 2025, a tornado struck the Town of Brownsburg, one of our neighboring communities. The same storm system caused significant damage across the Danville area, impacting property and infrastructure.
The Town of Danville Police Department, Fire Department, Utility Department, and Street Department worked tirelessly throughout the night to clear roads, remove debris, clean storm drains, and set up generators at pump stations—ensuring that essential services like toilet flushing could continue without interruption.
As of now, West Lincoln Street remains closed due to a downed power line.
For assistance with downed trees or debris blocking public roadways, please contact the Danville Street Department at (317) 745-4180 ext. 4000.
⚠️ If you encounter a downed power line, do not approach it—call 911 immediately.
⚠️ Avoid walking or driving through high water.
⚠️ For all other emergencies, dial 911.
Our parks and trails sustained minimal damage, though there are some downed limbs along the trails. Park staff are currently working to clear those areas.
Our thoughts are with the Danville community, our local businesses, and all neighboring communities affected by this severe weather. We are deeply grateful to the town employees who worked through the night to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
