Town of Danville, Indiana
The Town of Danville is a great place to live, work and do business.
Annual Leaf Clean-Up
With the arrival of autumn and leaves falling, covering the ground and stormwater drains the annual leaf clean-up will begin, courtesy of the Town of Danville Public Works Department. This popular program allows citizens to drop leaves off at the Public Works Department for free disposal on specified days. Public Works will be collecting leaves via curbside on pre-scheduled days. Check the leaf clean-up schedule to ensure your leaves are out and ready for pickup.
Curbside Pickup:
Round 2: November 28th-December 10th (All Town areas)
- Have leaves out for pick-up by 7:00 am
- Rake the leaves to the area between the sidewalk and the curb.
- Do not rake leaves into the street - leaves must be on the property side of the curb.
- Do not put leaves out earlier than 48 hours of the scheduled pick-up day.
- ONLY leaves (no sticks or yard waste) in the pile to be vacuumed - anything other than leaves can clog and damage the equipment.
- Do not place your leaves in the roadway, obstruct any rights-of-way or on the sidewalk - they blow around, become slip hazards when wet, and can clog storm drains and cause flooding.
- Do not block drains or pile around fire hydrants. (International Fire Code Fire Protection Water Supplies: Section 508.5.4, Section 508.5.5)
- Do not park on piles of leaves.
- We will pick up bagged leaves in compostable bags only.
- We will not pick up leaves in plastic bags.
- Avoid on-street parking on the daily scheduled pick-up side of the street.
-
- NOTE that rain or snow may alter the pick-up schedule.
