Memorial Tree Program

Rooted in love and remembrance, the Memorial Tree Program, established in 1983, offers a heartfelt way to honor loved ones by planting a tree in Danville's parks, giving new life to their memory. It’s comforting to know that their legacy contributes to a greater cause: protecting and maintaining the beauty of our world. Once registered, a tree will be lovingly planted in the park, with the name and location displayed on our website as a lasting tribute to those we hold dear. You can find your loved one's name on our digital map, which will direct you to the exact location of their memorial tree.

Danville Parks and Recreation makes every effort to maintain the tree and memorial brick in good condition; however, we cannot guarantee their longevity. The tree and brick are not covered by warranty in case of vandalism or natural causes. If any damage occurs, the owner will be responsible for replacing the tree and/or brick. If you wish to replace a memorial item, please get in touch with the Danville Parks and Recreation Department at 317-745-4180 ext. 5201.

In the summer of 2024, we transitioned from handwritten records to a digital mapping system to improve accuracy and accessibility. If you believe your loved one's tree is marked incorrectly, don't hesitate to contact the Parks Department, and we will work to make any necessary adjustments.
