Police Merit Board

The Danville Police Merit Board consists of five Danville citizens who serve as a governing body for the Danville Metropolitan Police Department. Two of the board members are appointed by the Town Council President, the Danville Town Council appoints one board member, and the officers themselves appoint the remaining two board members.  The board provides civilian oversight for the Danville Police Department. Duties and responsibilities of the Board include serving as the safety board for hiring, promotion, and disciplining all merit police officers. 

The Danville Police Merit Board is established in accordance with the state statutes of the State of Indiana to establish political neutrality and an unbiased/objective panel.  All meetings are publicly posted in accordance with Indiana statutes.

Police Merit Board: 4 years (Except 1st Year) Meets Quarterly
