Danville Social District
The Town of Danville has adopted Ordinance No. 23-2025, establishing a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), known as the Danville Social District. The Social District is designed to encourage a lively, walkable downtown while supporting local businesses.
What it means:
Within the Danville Social District, adults 21 and over may purchase and enjoy alcoholic beverages outdoors within posted boundaries, provided the beverage is:

Purchased from a participating business

Served in an official Social District cup
How it works:

Hours: Daily, 11:00 AM–1:00 AM.

Look for signs: markers show where the district begins/ends. Signs at businesses indicate whether drinks may be taken in or out.

Use the official cup: No glass to-go containers.

Stay in bounds: Drinks must remain inside the Danville Social District.

Central Normal Tap (71 S. Washington St.) • Mokey’s (134 S. Washington St.) • Two Guys Pies (55 E. Main St.) • Frank’s Place (33 S. Washington St.)
What You Can Do:

Purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating Social District business.

Sip while walking within the Social District boundaries

Carry up to two (2) drinks at a time in approved cups
What You Cannot Do:

Use glass containers

Bring outside alcohol into the Social District

Enter non-participating businesses with a drink

Consume alcohol outside the Social District hours or boundaries
Container Rules:

Drinks must be in official DORA-labeled cups

Look for the Danville Social District logo on your cup

Any open alcoholic beverage purchased within the Social District must remain within the district
